Spike Lee

I was blessed to have the opportunity to hear iconic movie director Spike Lee speak tonight at Virginia Tech. He came to Tech as a part of the Black Student Alliance's Black History Month events. He spoke on various aspects of his life, including how he initially became interested in shooting movies, his college experiences, his opinion on Black Letter Greek Organizations, and following one's passions rather than one's desire for monetary gain. I also had an opportunity to chat with him briefly after the event. He is a very personable guy.

Random interesting fact: I had a time limit imposed on me for taking these photos. All of these are from the first 5 minutes of him being on stage.

As always, if you'd like to see the gallery, click on the photos below. If you were there or if you have an opinion on him, leave a comment on this blog post.

In an attempt to provide visitors of Silas Photography a glimpse into my mind regarding my thoughts and motivations behind photography, I have changed the primary format of my website to that of a blog. Whenever new photos are posted, a blog post will accompany them. Feel free to leave your thoughts on any posts that interest you. Check back periodically for updates.
