Being a member of a black greek-letter organization (BGLO) is something that I cherish very dearly. While it is nice to share cardinal principals that are similar with our organizations (brotherhood/sisterhood, scholarship, assisting and being active in our communities, etc.), one of my favorite things about belonging to this historic fold is how it connects me to people from all walks of life. Some of my most meaningful connections have come from meeting and interacting with people that belong to the various organizations within the Nation Pan-Hellenic Council.
In November, I had the pleasure of spending a weekend with those "Pretty Poodles" of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. I had the opportunity to capture both the reemergence of the sorority at Virginia Tech and the introduction of the organization to at Radford University. The Virginia Tech Poodles also teamed up with the men of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. to put on a co-ed pageant, which is something that I have never had the opportunity to witness before.

In an attempt to provide visitors of Silas Photography a glimpse into my mind regarding my thoughts and motivations behind photography, I have changed the primary format of my website to that of a blog. Whenever new photos are posted, a blog post will accompany them. Feel free to leave your thoughts on any posts that interest you. Check back periodically for updates.
